Is there a trouble with animal models?

Have you ever experienced trouble with animal models? With dog also considered a candidate model for research, what do you opine on above statement?

As long as..

1. the ethical aspects are considered

2. the laboratory animals are acknowledged

3. the researcher is confident of experiments,

I think there should not be any trouble with experimentation:

Bar above, as a matter of fact as stated in top refereed journals clinical trials may not be a standpoint to this. While there is a need for confirmatory studies that should be better met with respect to drugs, we should definitely have no problem with trouble in having animal models as long as they are well tested. But considering dog as an animal model for the first few years could be again testing.
